The new federal government of Belgium, under the leadership of the leader of the Flemish nationalist party Bart De Wever, received the support of 81 deputies, while 66 voted against.
This coalition government, which includes seven parties, was formed 16 months after the elections. Bart De Wever, who heads the party "New Flemish Alliance," became the first Flemish prime minister in the last 46 years.
The main goals of the new cabinet include overcoming the crisis caused by the pandemic and sustainable recovery of the country's economy. The prime minister emphasized the importance of cooperation and dialogue between the Flemish and Walloon communities for the successful functioning of the government.
"We have faced a crisis caused by the pandemic, and we need to restore our economy and society. This social agreement gives us the strength to take the necessary measures to support all regions of the country," stated Bart De Wever.
