César 'Chino' Huerta has made a significant move to Anderlecht in Belgium after a promising winter transfer window. Speculations arose about a potential transfer to Feyenoord, which could have been beneficial for his career. The discussion continues among sports analysts on the missed opportunity for Huerta to join a stronger league.

César Huerta Joins Anderlecht from Pumas

The Mexican footballer César "Chino" Huerta made the leap to European football in the winter market by joining the Anderlecht club in Belgium, which acquired 80% of his federative rights from Pumas for around two million dollars. Huerta made his debut in the Europa League during his team's defeat against Fenerbahçe, being the standout player despite the result.

Regarding this, the father of Santiago Giménez, also known as "Chaco", revealed that Feyenoord could have been Huerta's destination, which would have allowed him to be with his son on the same team. Although Chaco did not specify when the interest from the Dutch club arose, he indicated that Feyenoord would have been a great opportunity for the Mexican player due to the quality of the team and its participation in European competitions.

Despite not knowing the exact reasons why the transfer to Feyenoord did not materialize, it is speculated that Pumas opted to sell Huerta to Anderlecht given the satisfactory offer received, which amounted to two million dollars. The opinion panel on the program La Última Palabra from Fox Sports agreed that for Huerta's career, joining Feyenoord would have been beneficial, considering the Eredivisie a higher-level league than the Belgian one and the opportunity to compete in European competitions with the Rotterdam team.
