At the 8th minute, the game was unexpectedly halted due to a violent incident in the stands. During the broadcast, the main referee suddenly stopped the match, requested the players of both teams to leave the field in order to avoid potential incidents in the stadium.

Some video recordings made from the opposing stand show how a few individuals descended from the steps onto the barrier, dividing the playing field territory, which led to clashes with security forces and escalated into a fierce brawl. For now, more details about their identities have not been revealed, but reportedly, five or six individuals in black clothing attempted to enter the field, but were blocked by security forces, which caused chaos on the sidelines of the field.

It should be noted that the match was suspended for 15 minutes, during which rule violators were led out of the building, after which the game resumed. At the moment of the match's interruption, when the issue of the next participant in the round of 16 was being decided, the team under the management of Chino Uerta was leading 1-0 thanks to a goal by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 4th minute.
