A lawyer for a 78-year-old doctor from Antwerp claims that his client is still experiencing threats from the surrounding community. Belgian authorities have stated that the accused previously sent electronic messages, made calls, and sent SMS messages with threats against the footballer and his children. A user account on the Snapchat platform was also created to study the personal life of De Breyne. Official representative K.A.A., Kristof Deman, reported that the investigation established that the accused sent dozens of messages, including threats of murder. Over a two-month period in 2018, the accused harassed and threatened a member of the national team, which affected his mental health and posed a danger to the safety of his family.
