In line with the fourth report on clean air, published by the European Commission on Monday, emissions of polluting substances in the European Union continue to decline. However, there is still an increased level of ammonia (NH3) emissions, which undermines the European Union's goal of zero pollution associated with reduced pollution in ecologically sensitive areas.
Data from the latest study conducted in Brussels and published by the European Commission indicated that additional efforts are needed to achieve the ambitious goal of the European Union for the reduction of pollution. The commission reaffirmed its commitment to achieving sustainable development.
"Over the past two decades, the European Union has achieved significant reductions in emissions. However, among all the results, particularly concerning is the stability of ammonia emissions, which poses a barrier to achieving the goal of zero pollution. At this moment, it is necessary to continue working in this direction," the representatives of the commission noted in the report.
