Kallas to propose EU lift sanctions on Venezuela's president

Brussels, Reuters — EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday she will propose to the bloc to lift sanctions on Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez. This comes after lawmakers in the South American country passed a limited amnesty bill for some prisoners last week. Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares urged the European Union to move forward with the step on Friday. Kallas added to journalists: "I will propose lifting sanctions on Delcy Rodriguez as the current interim president. We will see if there is consensus on that." The reason for the sanctions is not yet known.
